CRYOGENIC
CYLINDER FILLING OXYGEN/NITROGEN PLANTS
GEECO's cryogenic cylinder filling gaseous oxygen/gaseous nitrogen plants use a proprietary design for efficient production of high pressure gaseous oxygen/gaseous nitrogen (2400 psig) at high purity levels (99.6% oxygen minimum, 99.999% nitrogen) for cylinder filling applications.
There are three rotating pieces of machinery on this modern automatic cryogenic plant.
The first is the main air compressor. GEECO uses world class vendors for both centrifugal and rotary screw compressors. If the customer has a preference for a specific vendor, GEECO can, in most cases, accommodate that request without an additional charge.
The second piece of rotating machinery is a turboexpander. GEECO uses
air-bearing turboexpanders that are derived from components that have
exhibited a MTBF of over100,000 hours.
The third is the cryogenic pump that pumps the liquid oxygen/nitrogen stream to 2400 psig. GEECO uses a state of the art pump that has proven to provide long ring life.
GEECO uses an extremely efficient and proprietary process to minimize power consumption. Liquid product (oxygen/nitrogen) from the plant is pumped via a cryogenic pump to high pressure and then vaporized in an integrated main brazed aluminum heat exchanger. The product gaseous stream may be used to fill cylinders directly without the use of reciprocating compressors that require constant maintenance.
